Մայիսի 5-ին Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն գագաթնաժողովի շրջանակում ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի, Եվրոպական խորհրդի նախագահ Անտոնիու Կոշտայի և Եվրոպական Հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ուրսուլա ֆոն դեր Լայենի ներկայությամբ Հայաստանում ԵՄ պատվիրակության ղեկավար, դեսպան Վասիլիս Մարագոսը ՆԳ նախարար, ԵՄ-ի հետ վիզաների ազատականացման հարցով Հայաստանի գլխավոր բանակցող Արփինե Սարգսյանին է փոխանցել առաջընթացի առաջին զեկույցը։
X-ի իր էջում Եվրոպական Հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ուրսուլա ֆոն դեր Լայենը գրել է․
«Մենք առաջընթաց ենք գրանցել ԵՄ-ՀՀ վիզաների ազատականացման գործընթացում։
Ես գիտեմ՝ այն հայերի համար մեծ նշանակություն ունի։
Այն կարևոր նշանակություն ունի նաև ԵՄ-ի համար, քանի որ սրա արդյունքում մեր ժողովուրդները ավելի են մոտենում իրար։ Ես վստահ եմ՝ մենք կհասնենք ցանկալի արդյունքին»։
Նմանատիպ մի գրառում է կատարել նաև ԵՄ ներքին գործերի և միգրացիայի հարցերով հանձնակատար Մագնուս Բրունները․
«Հայաստանից այսօր շատ դրական ազդակներ ենք ստանում. վիզաների ազատականացման առաջընթացի առաջին զեկույցը ցույց է տալիս, որ Հայաստանը արդյունավետ քայլեր է ձեռնարկում ճանապարհորդական փաստաթղթերի անվտանգության և սահմանների կառավարումը ամրապնդելու ուղղությամբ։
Սրանք վիզաների ազատականացման գործընթացի հիմնական պահանջներն են»։
The Armenia–EU Visa Liberalisation Process Will Continue Successfully and Achieve Its Goal: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
On May 5, within the framework of the Armenia–European Union Summit, and in the presence of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the European Council António Costa, and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, handed over the first progress report to Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, Armenia’s chief negotiator on visa liberalisation with the EU.
On her X account, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote:
We are making progress on visa liberalization.
I know it matters to Armenians deeply.
It matters to the EU too, because it draws our people closer together.
I’m sure we will get there.

Very positive sign from Armenia today – the first visa liberalisation progress report shows Armenia is taking effective steps to strengthen travel document security and border management.
These are key requirements of the visa liberalisation process.
